Robert Heyward Overstreet

Savannah- Mr. Robert Heyward Overstreet, 84, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at Spanish Oaks Retreat.

He was born April 7, 1923 in Hoy, Louisiana. As a child, his family moved to Savannah where he graduated from Savannah High School in 1941. After serving in the Army Air Corp during WWII, Mr. Overstreet worked with Seaboard Coastline Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie Stephens Overstreet and Robert Roland Overstreet.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Futrell Overstreet; daughters, Renée Teeple Mike, Kay Overstreet; grandchildren, Jennifer Mountjoy Gary, Michael Teeple, Jr., Ryan Comer, Matthew Comer, Andrew Comer and sister, Joy Mixon.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
